Smooth Agave (Agave demeesteriana, commonly sold as Agave desmettiana) forms rosettes with basal offsets. Each rosette dies after flowering. Supplied in a 3-inch nursery pot. General plant care Choose filtered sun or light, dappled shade and well-drained soil. Established landscape plants need only occasional watering; this does not establish a watering schedule for a small nursery pot. Toxicity and handling The leaves have sharp tips and may also have small spines along their margins. Handle with care. Sap from some agaves can irritate skin, so avoid sap contact when handling or pruning. Hanging Lobster Claw (Heliconia rostrata) Tropical Heliconia known for its dramatic hanging red bracts tipped with yellow and green, held above bold banana-like foliage. A great choice for adding a lush tropical look to warm, partially shaded gardens. Current plants are not in flower In my experience growing Heliconia rostrata here in Florida, this variety can tolerate more direct sun than many other heliconias, especially once established and acclimated. Established plants tend to flower most heavily from late spring into early summer These plants are mature enough that I would expect them to flower next season with adequate light, warmth, moisture, and overall growing conditions General plant care Grow in partial shade or bright, filtered light in a sheltered position. Keep the growing medium moist, with good drainage. Sources Heliconia rostrata | Plants of the World Online - Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew; Heliconia rostrata - Royal Horticultural Society

Veldt Grape (Cissus quadrangularis) is a perennial succulent climber in the grape family, Vitaceae. It develops distinctive jointed, four-angled fleshy stems, small lobed leaves, and tendrils that allow the plant to climb or trail. General plant care Grow in full sun to bright light in a gritty, fast-draining potting mix. Water moderately during active growth, allowing the mix to dry substantially between waterings. Reduce watering during cooler or slower-growing periods. Outdoors, Veldt Grape is best suited to warm, frost-free climates. For this listing, it is classified for USDA Hardiness Zones 10a–11b. Container-grown plants should be protected from cold and frost. Growth habit Cissus quadrangularis is a climbing or sprawling succulent vine. Its thick, segmented stems store water and produce tendrils and small leaves from the nodes. Plants may be allowed to trail or can be trained onto a support. Traditional and ethnobotanical use Cissus quadrangularis has a long history of use in traditional medicine, particularly in India, where it is commonly known as Hadjod or Asthisamharaka. It has been especially associated with traditional practices involving broken bones and other bone-related complaints. Historical and ethnobotanical accounts describe the fleshy stems being crushed or ground into pastes for external application, while other traditional preparations used the stems or roots internally in powders, juices, decoctions, or other formulations. Traditional systems have also recorded uses associated with digestive complaints, hemorrhoids, wounds, joint discomfort, and several other conditions. These traditional uses are presented for historical and ethnobotanical context only. They should not be interpreted as medical advice or as evidence that the plant is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Pet safety Reliable species-specific veterinary guidance for Cissus quadrangularis is limited.
